Three New School Resource Officers Added to OCSO

📣 Important Announcement 📣

Attention parents of school-age children in Osage County! The Osage County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) has some great news to share. We are thrilled to announce our partnership with 7 out of the 10 eligible school districts in the county to increase School Resource Officers (SROs) within the community.

Thanks to the dedication and commitment of the following school districts, who have utilized available state education funding, we are able to bring on board 3 additional SROs during the school week. This means that OCSO now has a total of 4 SROs working diligently to enhance school safety across the county.

👉 Participating School Districts:

  • Shidler
  • McCord
  • Barnsdall
  • Bowring
  • Woodland
  • Prue
  • Osage Hills

But that’s not all! We are excited to inform you that these SROs will be available to work specifically within the school district areas even during the summer break. They will focus on important tasks such as traffic enforcement, sex offender registration checks, and most school events. This extended coverage ensures that our children and community remain protected year-round.

We understand that every parent wants the utmost security and protection for their children while they are at school. This collaborative effort between OCSO and these 7 school districts aims to further strengthen the safety measures in place.

If you don’t see your school district listed here, we encourage you to reach out to your school superintendent and inquire about the possibility of participating in this program. The state provides education funding for schools that wish to join and contribute to the enhanced school safety initiative.

At OCSO, our utmost priority is the safety and well-being of our community. We are proud to work alongside these proactive school districts to provide a safer environment for our children to grow, learn, and thrive.

Please feel free to share this information with other parents and members of the community. Together, we can create a safer future for our children.
