Pawhuska, OK – May 23, 2024 – The Osage County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) reports the arrest of Deputy David Shawn Lynd for introducing contraband into the Osage County Jail, located at 900 St. Paul, Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Deputy Lynd has been immediately suspended from employment at the Sheriff’s Office in response to the allegations.
Deputy Lynd is currently in custody at the Osage County Detention Center as OCSO investigators continue to thoroughly investigate this case. The listed charges against Deputy Lynd will be forwarded to the Osage County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
The arrest of Deputy Lynd is the result of an incident that occurred on May 21 and May 22, 2024, within the premises of the Osage County Jail, as documented by OCSO Investigators.
Undersheriff Gary Upton emphasizes the importance of transparency in this matter, affirming, “The Osage County Sheriff’s Office maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption within our ranks or our county. We are steadfast in upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability in all our operations.”
