After high school Bill joined the United States Army National Guard and received his basic training and AIT at Ft. Benning Georgia. He served with the infantry as a Staff Sergeant (E-6) until 1991 when he went to inactive ready reserve (IRR), and was honorably discharged in August 1995.
Bill began his law enforcement career in January 1991 at Connor’s Correctional Center in Hominy, Ok. He attended the Correctional Officer Academy at the Center for Correctional Officer Studies in Wilburton, Oklahoma earning his basic Correctional Officer certification.
In December 1991 Bill started with the Fairfax Police Department under Chief Earl Key. During that time, he attended the Basic Police Academy in Broken Arrow Oklahoma graduating in September 1992 (E92 B3). After earning his CLEET certification he was promoted to Assistant Chief of Police and remained in that position until 1994.
In 1994, Bill joined the Osage County Sheriff’s Office as Patrol Deputy assigned to the Southern District of Osage County under the late Henry Bloomfield, then again under Sheriff Russell Cottle where he was promoted to Patrol Sergeant over Osage Counties Southern District.
In 1998 Bill accepted a position with the City of Hominy as Assistant Chief of Police were he served under Chief Richard L. Barker until 2001 when he took a break from Law Enforcement and began working in Aviation field as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic.
Bill began to miss the law enforcement field and joined the Osage Nation Police Department as a Patrol Officer in July 2003. In 2004 Bill was promoted to Assistant Chief of Police under John Drexil where he remained until 2010.
In August 2010, Bill returned to the Osage County Sherriff’s Office as Patrol Deputy, and in May 2011, was moved to his current assignment as an Investigator in the Criminal Investigations Division assigned to the Southern District of Osage County.
Bill Joined the Masonic Fraternity in 2000 and was a member of the Hominy Masonic Lodge #350 where he was raised to a Master Mason. He is past Master of the lodge, and served as lodge Secretary until it consolidated with the Hebron Lodge in Cleveland, Ok.

Basic Instructor; Criminal Investigator Academy Class CIA-42; Nationally Certified Drug Recognition Expert; Hostage Negotiator; Reid Technique of Interviews and Interrogation; Sig Armorer; Homicide Investigation, Wild land fire cause and determination of origin; Indian Country Jurisdiction; FBI Survival Awareness as well as various other law enforcement related trainings.
